Herm of Robert Wilhelm Ekman (1808–1873), who was the founder and the first manager of Turun Piirustuskoulu (Turku School of Drawing, 1846). By Wäinö Aaltonen (1894–1966), carved 1924–26, unveiled 4 January 1927. Made of red granite, height 4,1 m. A herm carved from a single monolith, total height 411 cm, height of the head 75 cm. R.W. Ekman was an important Finnish painter in the 1850's. The paintings on the walls and ceiling of the chancel at the Turku Cathedral are the most renowned of his works.
